In this parent-child play workshop, you'll explore and practice play techniques that help build meaningful connections with your child.
Ever wonder why your child flips their lid or why playtime seems to calm the storm? This engaging workshop blends the latest in neuroscience with the timeless power of play to help parents and children understand what’s happening in the brain during moments of dysregulation—and how play can bring calm and connection.
Through interactive activities, playful exercises, and simple explanations of brain science, families will explore how play fosters emotional regulation, strengthens bonds, and creates a foundation for positive discipline.
Swathi Kandru is a therapeutic play practitioner (Play Therapy UK) with over 10 years of experience working with children in various academic and educational settings. She uses her current clinical training in creative arts play therapy and child development to help children to make sense of difficult life experiences, or complex psychological issues through play. Therapeutic play helps a child to gain insight and understanding of their experiences, increasing emotional resilience and developing coping strategies while decreasing problematic behaviours and internalized conflicts.
